Super Mario Run 在上年年尾於 iOS 推出，當時不少人希望在手機重溫 1990 年代 Super Mario 經典，然而不少人因為解鎖全部關卡要收費而棄 Game。不過，這並未來影響到在 Android 的推出計劃。
任天堂在 Super Mario Run 宣佈 Super Mario Run 在 2017 年 3 月 23 日在 Google Play 推出。Super Mario Run 玩法復刻 90 年代 Super Mario 系列橫向動作遊戲，提供了 24 個「世界巡迴」關卡以及多個獎勵和超高隱藏關卡，更加入含有對戰元素的「拉力賽」關卡以及用於建造蘑菇王國的建築，令遊戲更耐玩。
Android 用戶可在 Super Mario Run 的 Google Play 網頁登錄並於當日下載 Super Mario Run，一起投入 Super Mario Run 的世界啦！
