iOS 14/iPadOS 14 其中一項新功能就是 PiP（Picture-in-Picture) 畫中畫功能，它可讓用戶離開影片播放 App，以子螢幕播放影片的同時，讓用戶執行其他操作。
不過，自 6 月份 iOS 14 Beta 開始至今，Youtube App 仍未能夠實現畫中畫功能的支援。有用戶在 Twitter 表示，近日在 iPadOS14 下配合 Youtube App 下，突然可以實現畫中畫功能。不過暫時只限在 Live Stream 直播才可使用。
不過，由於 YouTube App 本身不支援背景播放，暫時畫中畫功能也要有 YouTube Premium 收費版才可實現。其實 iOS 14 用戶還可以透過 Safari 來實現 YouTube 畫中畫背景播放功能。
