FCC 專員 Brendan Carr 在 Twitter 公開呼籲蘋果和 Google 封鎖 TikTok，將應用從其 App Store 及 Google Play 下架。
Brendan Carr 表示，TikTok 不只是一款線上影片應用，這只是「外衣」背後藏著將敏感數據傳送到北京。
他指出 TikTok 不止讓用戶看一些跳舞影片，它更收集了用戶的搜尋、瀏覽紀錄、生物特徵、未發佈的草稿等等，儲存在系統剪貼簿（Clipboard）的文字、圖像以至影片。
