來自爆料人 @dylandkt 在 Twitter 上的消息，透過 Apple 正研發摺疊式 iPhone，也在測試多款不同設計的摺疊式 iPhone 試作機。然而，Apple 認為摺疊式螢幕技術仍有很多未達其要求之處。
雖然市場上仍有不少摺疊式手機出現，但會否能繼續在市場上佔一席位或是最終也成為「過時」的產品，蘋果仍在觀察，並打算在競爭對手的錯誤中著手改進。
當其他競爭對手推出看似 Beta 的產品時，Apple 仍保留其設計，對未來保持耐性，等待技術的進步。
